Great excitement and joy filled the hearts of our young Confirmands when our District Elder Ernst Graf announced that Confirmation Orientation Weekend Camp 2016 would be held in Wellington. All our Confirmands for 2016 from all areas in New Zealand boarded the flight on the Friday Evening; 13 from the Auckland and 1 from Christchurch, also in attendance was 1 confirmand from Wellington. On arrival at the Hotel Waterloo & Backpackers the room allocations were made and we embarked on our first excursion meeting our brethren of Wellington Congregation. The evening’s Fellowship was filled with laughter and awesome fun with the Ministers and Congregants of Wellington. After a wholesome and filling breakfast on the Saturday morning we embarked on our excursions for the day. Our Confirmands went on a train trip on the Wellington Cable Car which was very exciting. Our Second excursion for the morning was a very memorable visit to Te Papa Museum. Saturday afternoon our Confirmands spent some quality time at Oriental Bay Beach where they also had lunch. The evening our District Elder Graf and ministers visited the 2 dorms of our Confirmands reminding them of the importance of our 10 Articles of Faith and allowing them to recite the Confirmation Vow in preparation for Confirmation Service. The weekend concluded with a Sunday Morning Divine Service. The Confirmands would like to thank all their leaders for making the 2016 Camp a very eventful, historical and most blessed experience.
