Seniors Waiheke Trip - Feb 2013
Auckland and indeed the entire North island is experiencing one the most awesome summers in recent years and our senior members took full advantage by arranging an outing to beautiful Waiheke Island.

30 seniors, 2 apprentice seniors and some of their guests gathered at the Waterfront bright eyed and bushy tailed to board the 11am ferry. The crowds were such that 3 ferry's were eventually used to get all the holiday makers safely over, and on time to one of the jewels of the Hauraki Gulf region.Normally home to about 8700 inhabitants, this number swells to many more thousands as holiday makers enjoy open markets, vineyard tours, and a host of other attractions.

The seniors scouted for bargan's at one of the markets - hand made jewelry, any numbers of homemade food stuffs, rare books and the like. At 12:30 the group then made their way to the local RSA and after the District Elder Huller (Ret) blessed the food, the seniors enjoyed two hours at lunch and fellowship. The bus and ferry trip back to Auckland was as festive as ever.Thankfully the day was without incident - no seniors were lost or damaged! - We extend a sincere thank you to the organisers for another awesome outing.
