Youth Convention - 2012
The Youth convention for September 2012 was held at Totara Springs Christian Camp in Matamata. Our young brothers and sisters converged on the camped Friday afternoon by bus, and some in their own vehicles. After dinner, there was much exploring, and some shot hoops, others sat around the fire and belted out songs to the accompaniment of the guitar, living in the moment of the long awaited and anticipated youth convention!  After breakfast on Saturday morning, the supervisors and team leaders were taken through their paces regarding the activities that were arranged which included: Flying fox, go karts, rock climbing, abseiling, target shooting and, BMX track to mention but a few…Fun and laughs and skill luck and excitement were the order of the morning which created an understandable vacuum that was filled at lunch with a wholesome meal!!!

After a short choir practice, the youth enjoyed dinner with our Apostle Williams and District Leaders Graf and Van Wyngaard. The evening was crunch time for each congregation to show their talent in the NAC’s Got Talent Contest! All congregations participated in the contest and bringing up the rear in 3rd place was North Shore Congregation with a rendition of Tamara Lowe’s Rap for Jesus and in 2nd Place was Drury congregation and the winner was Henderson congregation with a Pacific Dance…Each presentation was indeed enjoyable and the effort that went into to this is commendable!!! The weekend culminated in a wonderful blessing with a divine service conducted by our Apostle Trevor Williams. Assisted by the district youth leader Evangelist Bryce Diaz and also our District Elder Ernst Graf, who also celebrated his birthday! Brother Emile Vollenhoven turned 21 the next day and congratulations and well wishes were in order!
After lunch and fellowship, everyone departed after a fun-filled and most blessed weekend! We now look forward to 2013 with our Chief Apostle.
